I’ve spent many long days over the past few years wearing Salomon Quest 4D GTX and have been pleasantly surprised at their performance. Finding a boot that spans the needs of multiple activities in a variety of terrain can be challenging, but these are the best I have found thus far for a lightweight all around hiking boot.

  1. I have used those boots for years, hiking and working in them. I am 75 and have hiked and backpacked all my life and these are the best boots I have ever owned, and I have owned some very expensive ones.

  2. Are these boots good in summer too (like 26 degrees celsius) or are they too hot?

  3. The goretex layer broke down after 200 miles? That’s worse than the last 3 pairs of Merrells I bought. 200 miles is not a “lot” of miles.

Are there any boots that aren’t overpriced junk these days 🤷‍♂️

  4. I have Timberland regular city boots that I’ve been wearing in really, really bad conditions for over 6 years now and they look a thousand times better than those overpriced, vaunted trekking boots.

  5. Junk dont buy soles peeled off in 10 hours of use
