BTW those lowa’s have a cool design feature that lets one boot have different laces tension on the same boot. Thats mean you can tangle lower part with one tension, and fix the ankle with different one. That is so cool that I dont want to go back after)
My Lowas are tough, have great features, build quality and durability… they also kill my feet! After a day on them I walk like a chimp.
It depends on your foot.
I tried Salomon. Awful. Had to go 1.5 sizes up to fit my wide feet, and then I was like a clown stubbing my toes all over the woods. So much bumping I started pulling the two caps off.
Tried Merrell in my proper size. They fit, but were too deep and I needed inserts. Had to get used to it to stop striking my heel.
Danner Tachyon – perfect out of the box.
Garmont T8 winter boots – I’m still breaking them in, but I have a lot of hope for them.
As a former turret gunner on the mighty F14 Tomcat and an avid outdoorsman, nothing beats the Danner Trails gore-Tex boots for me!
